"At first, I associated the beam of light with something hopeful and a bit dramatic. I made many attempts before I ended up with this one, more atmospheric, more poetic. That was an idea I was working on for fun and immediately rejected, thinking that my other ideas are more versatile in design, more interesting visually, and more worthy as illustrations. Sometimes, though, there is nothing more hopeful than a snack in the middle of the night."
